Get to know…Dr. Kristin Morse
 |
Dr. Kristin Morse is a Senior Staff Pharmacist at the Rippe Health Assessment. Kristen believes in the importance of monitoring all medications — not just prescription medications. |
Q. Why did you become a doctor?
A. I guess you could say I like to help others and take care of people.
Q. Can you think of a patient who made a positive heart healthy change in their life?
A. I can think of many. At Rippe Health Assessment we give out an "Award of the Clinic" to individuals that have focused on their health and made a positive heart healthy change in their life.
Q. What did they do?
A. The majority have simply decided to make a commitment to themselves and their health.
Q. How do you live the Five Pillars of Health?
A. BALANCE; I truly try to achieve balance in my life every day.
Q. Why are you committed to this aspect of life medicine?
A. I believe that balance is the true key to health - balancing nutrition, exercise, physical well-being and emotional well-being. Though we have a vast array of lifesaving and improving medications, there is no magic bullet for staying young and healthy. We each need to take care of the body we were given.
Q. What do you do when you get home from work?
A. When I am not at work, you can typically find me cleaning, cooking, exercising, grocery shopping, and spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy crafts, like scrapbooking, soap making, and sewing.
Q. If you weren't practicing medicine, what would you be doing?
A. I think I would be involved with forensic science. I have always been fascinated by TV shows that deal with this aspect of science.
Q. What is the best part of your job?
A. The education aspect. A large portion of my job is dedicated to educating pharmacy residents and students, as well as other health care practitioners and the community. I really enjoy teaching others about medications and their application to specific disease states.
